‘Road to Resilience’ – A Psychodrama Workshop, Gujarat , 17th & 18th March 2018

We all need resilience to live a fulfilling life. With resilience, you’ll be more prepared to take on challenges, to develop your talents, skills, and abilities . This knowing is helpful so that you can live with more purpose and joy. Psychodrama is essentially a group action method that helps a person to embrace one’s own capabilities. This could be used in clinical setting (hospitals, therapy centers), non-clinical setting like a business establishment in team building, conflict management, stress management, identifying and working with stress, improving communication, building trust, identifying issues etc. This is a spontaneous and creative method which is used by certified psychodramatists who is otherwise called the Psychodrama director. A director enables or facilitates a re-enactment of real life situations, past incidents / situations or an inner mental process but, acting them out in the present time.

Timing: 9.30am to 4pm

Course Fee: Rs. 3000 (only for students)

Who should train?

Mainly to attract students studying psychology , social work and also other practitioners who are interested to experience psychodrama.

Facilitator:

Ms. Magdalene Jeyarathnam, has worked for over 20 years as a Psychological Counsellor. She is an Expressive Arts Therapist, and a board certified Psychodramatist. She has worked as a consultant to several governments, the World Health Organisation (WHO), and the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF). She is a member of the International Association of Group Psychotherapy and Group process.

Ms Magdalene is the Director of the Indian Institute of Psychodrama, which she founded in 2013 after working to bring world class psychodrama trainers to India since 2009. She is also the Director of the East West Center for Counselling and Training (an Expressive Arts Therapy Center based in Chennai, India); and a co-founder of the Expressive Arts Therapy Association of India.
